There is one body and one Spirit,
just as you were called to the one hope of your calling,
one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all,
who is above all and through all and in all.
Ephesians 4:4-6
Standing within the margins of sand and sea
Extending my arms in greeting,
Breathing home into my lungs,
Waiting to wash life into my being,
yet again.
Waves roll toward me
Over and over,
Bowing low unto my feet,
Announcing blessing,
Proclaiming promise,
Welcoming my soul into wholeness
Bidding come,
Tugging at my feet to enter.
“Come, beloved one, Come into the waters.
Feel the salty kiss of birth.
Be refreshed with the embrace of love
Remember your mother’s womb of life.
I enter the wetness
Absorbing its nurturing waters.
In return, the waves
Wash into the guilt,
Penetrate the past,
Massage the weariness,
Moving into me
Through me,
Under me,
Over me,
With me
Refreshing me into newness of life.
With a gentle push and splash of water
The waves bring me back to shore,
Birthed anew
for the sake of loving others
Breathprayer: Breathing in: Come to the waters…
Breathing out: …. for newness of life.
